I recall seeing an exhibit of Remedios Varo's work in Chicago years ago - probably upwards of 7 or so (yes, I am that old). At the time, I had never seen a surrealism quite like hers, and...so much of it! so much work and so many pieces!! This still holds true today, as does her function as a continual inspiration and exasperating example of cryptic, magical aesthetic combination...
yes. great stuff. i'd like to read more about her sometime. and -- i wish i could see that damn exhibit again! wouldn't take it for granted like i did all those years ago...
this here blog is meant to act as a virtual, visual scrapbook for myself. as a log of things/artstuffs/activities/moments which have inspired me and which will, i whole-heartily assume, inspire me for most/much of my creative life. i guess if there are the 2 or 3 people out there who actually look at this, well - i hope you may get a lil' inspired too... or stoked. or psyched. or amped. whatever it is the kids say nowadays...
i saw that same show in Baltimore i think...or maybe DC. it was a long time ago and i was so very impressed by her work. such a great artist.
